As a Realtor®, you have the opportunity to build your own business, set your own schedule, and determine how much time and effort you want to invest.
1. Do your research on the Maryland real estate market.
Make sure you’re ready for the rewards and risks of running your own real estate business. We believe in the team concept while respecting your individulalism and want to make the transition as smooth as possible.
2. Complete 60 hours of official pre-licensing classes.
Maryland requires 60 hours of education, which you can take in a classroom or online From a Maryland Approved Education Provider. There are multiple options and educational facilities to fit your schedule.
3. Pass the Maryland real estate exam.
A minimum score of 70 percent on the final exam is required in Maryland, and there is no limit on the number of retakes.
4. Choose a broker to sponsor you.

5. Apply for a Maryland real estate license.
The Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation is the licensing authority for the state. Submit a completed online licensing application. If it is approved, you are a Maryland real estate agent.
